Follow up on the Luxury auction in Steamboat:
Chateau Saisons, previously listed for over $15,000,000 sold at auction on Wednesday for $4.63 million plus a 10 percent buyer’s premium.
The auction was attended by about nine potential buyers either in person or on the phone. The auction was only open to qualified buyers who could provide evidence of a $100,000 earnest money check.
Written opening bids started at around $2 million and bidding reached $4 million before it started to slow.
Most of the furniture in the home, a membership at Christie Club at the base of Steamboat Ski Area and a Bobcat skid steer were added as an incentive and bidding continued until the final bid of $4.63 million.
The terms of the auction require that the purchase must close within 30 days.
