Victorian Charm Price Reduced
There’s something charming about Victorian-style, country homes in small towns. It reminds me of childhood storybook tales, in places far away from where I ever lived. Simple life happened there: drinking lemonade on the porch on a hot summer day, running through sprinklers around grandma’s vegetable gardens and eating popsicles under cottonwood trees.
So, when I listed a home for sale in Yampa, Colorado, (just 30 miles south of Steamboat Springs) I realized places like this really do exist and homes like this are full of stories and memories just as in the books we all remember.
Needless to say, this home is exactly as you might picture it. Built in 1907, this property still houses the original front door, hardwood floors and antique lighting. The original detached garage, which has been converted to a “his/hers” workshop, still sits at the back of the property. Trees that have lived through the harshest winters and drought-ridden summers still tower on the property’s edge giving the owners privacy. A wrought-iron- and white picket fence surround the gardens in this yard that are tended to daily.
Inside the home are three spacious bedrooms upstairs that share a bathroom near a sizeable sitting area. The main level provides a large laundry/utility space ideal for kicking off your muddy boots before you head further inside to the kitchen, dining and living rooms. A wood stove sits in the living room near the fourth bedroom with centennial-style bath.
Kelly Stahl and Pam Vanatta have just reduced the price of this listing to $319,000. Please let us know if you or anyone you know might have interest in seeing this charismatic property.
