Why buy a home now?

First, some good news that was released today…  U.S. housing starts surged a better-than-expected 10.5% in August to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 598,000 on strength in multifamily construction, the Commerce Department said Tuesday.

And, while your here, allow me to present 10 great reasons to buy a home now:
1. Price haven’t been this low in years. Prices are down 30 percent on average and some properties have been reduced by over 50 percent!
2. Cheap mortgages that probably won’t stay at this spot very long. The average for a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage is around 4.5%. Compare that to the 80’s.
3. Tax breaks can make owning cheaper than renting even if you pay the same amount per month.
4. No landlords! Make all the changes you want without asking anyone (unless you’re doing a big remodel, then you better get approval through the correct channels).
5. You can find a home that is nicer than a rental. You can fix it up. You can stay in as long as you want without the possibility of the landlord kicking you out.
6. Over time, appreciation has historically outpaced inflation.
7. It’s risk capital. If the economy picks up, you stand to benefit from that, even if you’re goal is just to have a nice place to live.
8. The forced savings that come from paying a mortgage goes towards equity.
9. It’s a buyers market and the supply of properties is unparalleled.
10. Sooner or later the market will rebound. With the population growing and land becoming scarcer, demand will eventually outpace supply.
