Homebuyers are looking on-line to find their new homes
Homebuyers are looking on-line to find their new homes.
A new collaborative report by Google and the National Association of Realtors (NAR) shows some interesting stats in the American home buying process.
Here are some highlights from the study:
•90 percent of buyers used online resources to search for a new home.
•52 percent of first time buyers started their search online.
•77 percent of first time buyers drove by a home viewed online.
•Real estate related Google searches have grown 253 percent over the past four years.
•Shoppers perform an average of 11 searches prior to taking action on a site.
•YouTube is the top video research destination for home shoppers.
•78 percent of home shoppers visit three or more sites prior to taking action.
This data was collected by Google and the National Association of Realtors throughout 2011 and 2012.
While print advertising still has its place in advertising, the stats are showing that more people will find their dream home on-line first.
